  • Lead writer of many provincially-developed and locally developed curricula for languages

SPECIAL NOTES:

Throughout her career, Janice worked collaboratively with government representatives and educators from many countries on a wide range of projects, especially representatives from China, Spain, Germany, Ukraine, Japan and the U.S. She worked on many collaborative international projects, and provided leadership and consultative services, especially in policy development, curriculum, and high-quality bilingual, immersion and additional language programming. Throughout her years in leadership, Janice provided leadership to support a range of languages, including official languages, international and heritage languages, indigenous languages, and signed languages.

In volunteer roles, she also served on ATA specialist councils, the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute in Edmonton, as well as in various roles of the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT), including serving as President. Janice has led many international collaborations and projects. Janice Aubry consults and speaks nationally and internationally, and has received numerous awards. In 2021, she established a consulting company, J Aubry Consulting+.

Janice is grateful for her many years of being able to work for an amazing school division in areas for which she cared deeply, and for being able to bring together and work with, and for, many great teachers, leaders and educational innovators in Alberta, across Canada, and from around the world.
